Superconductivity in Al-Nb-Ti-V-Zr Multicomponent Alloy

The superconducting high-entropy alloys (HEAs) recently attract considerable attention due to their exciting properties, such as the robustness of superconductivity against atomic disorder and extremely high pressure. well-studied crystal structure HEAs is body-centered cubic (bcc) containing Nb, Ti, Zr atoms. same elements are contained in $$\mathrm {Al}_{5}\mathrm {Nb}_{24}\mathrm {Ti}_{40}\mathrm {V}_{5}\mathrm {Zr}_{26}$$ , which a discovered bcc HEA shows gum-metal-like behavior after cold rolling. gum metal also an interesting system, exhibiting superelasticity low Young’s modulus. If metals show can be used wire, gum-metal superconductors might next-generation wire materials. Aiming at fundamental assessment as-cast Al-Nb-Ti-V-Zr multicomponent including we have investigated structural properties alloys. All superconductivity, valence electron concentration dependence critical temperature very close those typical HEAs.
